Toyota, the world's leading automaker, has announced plans to restart some of its production on Monday at group plants that were previously suspended due to an accident at a supplier facility.
While five lines at four Toyota plants will resume operations, eight lines at six plants, including one at Toyota's Takaoka factory, will remain idled.
This move follows an accident at the Aichi Prefecture plant of supplier Chuo Spring, which manufactures engine and suspension parts. Toyota suspended a total of 16 lines at 11 group factories due to the damaged supplier plant, resulting in a loss of up to 13,000 vehicles.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, and Toyota has not specified when the remaining idled plants will resume production. Read More
