SDF Plane Evacuated Amid Israel-Hamas Conflict

 An Air Self-Defense Force plane evacuated 83 people, including 60 Japanese and 18 South Koreans, from Israel to Jordan amid the escalating conflict with Hamas. 


The KC-767 aircraft will arrive in Tokyo on Saturday after picking up evacuees in Tel Aviv. Japan had dispatched the plane last Saturday, which had been on standby in Jordan, and two more ASDF C-2 transport planes are on standby for potential evacuations in Jordan and Djibouti. In a separate effort, 51 Japanese nationals were evacuated to Seoul on a South Korean aircraft, and eight more left Tel Aviv for Dubai on a chartered flight last weekend.
